Welcome to my website. Its purpose is to record all of my travel adventures, both following my current travels and reminiscing on past adventures.

Despite the inclusion of some affiliates links, this site deliberately sets out to be impartial, making it a more pleasurable read for the visitor and avoiding the need to include generic articles aimed primarily at attracting search engine hits.

In over 30 years of travelling and working overseas the key thing that I have learned is that, at its most basic, travel is about understanding the culture and traditions of the places and people we visit, as much as it is about enjoying the landscape.

Bearing this in mind, the secret of travel lies in immersing yourself in local life, eating on the street, sleeping in local hotels and travelling by local buses and trains.
